High Blood Pressure at Applebee's

Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.

High Cholesterol at Applebee's

Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.

Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol

If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.

We had a great experience here. We arrived at 5pm on Saturday and were seated right away. Our food came out hot and everything was tasty. We'll be back!

I don't see how this place has so many negative reviews. I went in the evening around 6:30 p.m. service was very fast. I order two of the appetizers. They have so many apps to choose from I truly enjoyed the strawberry lemonade. To my surprise the food came out so fast. My server was very nice and friendly. I plan to go back to this location. I was only there because I had a gift card to use. Its a chain restaurant so don't expect any extra.

After seeing a movie, we stopped in for dinner. The hostess told us that there was a 15 minute hold because the kitchen was backed up. I asked to be seated and was told no by the hostess. I inquired why we couldn't be seated and served water while we looked over the menu and was told no, all she could do was take down a name but there was a 15 minute hold on service. 8:45pm and lots of empty tables. Needless to say, we left. I would have chosen 0 stars, but that's not an option.

I thought it was impossible for any location to be worse than the one on Airline Hwy boy was I wrong. The service was so awful I actually thought it was a joke. Order was messed up, food brought to the wrong table, asked for a saucER, the waitress brought salsA and then got an attitude when we corrected her. The frozen drink I ordered was a cup of liquid. It's a place with a bunch of bumbling idiots walking around. I expected much more from a restaurant in Towne Center but lesson learned.

Strap in folks. This is going to be a long one. I'm not sure if you can leave a zero star review so I'm leaving one star just to be sure my review is factored into the score. Where to begin...first we get seated at a terrible location leaving about 3 feet of walk space between our table and the booth on the other side. If I scoot my chair out a couple of inches, I will surely cause a traffic jam. No biggie though. We are greeted by our server (not professional at all, but I don't have high expectations for this crappy chain anyway) and he proceeds to take our drink orders (all waters, one pink lemondade, and a beer for my dad). Everything comes out about 12 minutes later, with him apologizing for the wait. Cool, still no biggie. They bring out a lemonade (not a pink lemonade) and our sagging-server says, "oh give that to the other table, she had one." They bring the correct one out about 5 minutes later. Okay, on to our food order. The menu had zero appealing items, so we all went with burgers. I got mine with no veggies (lettuce, tomato, or pickle) and my girlfriend got hers with everything on it. My brother gets some shrimp dish (these details are important for the terribleness that ensues). Time goes by and goes by and goes by. My dad finally gets his second beer about 30 minutes after asking for it. At this point, it's been a little over an hour since we placed our order and we've yet to receive food. My one-year old has been patient but is now growing restless and has a nasty diaper. Did I mention they aren't busy AT ALL!? Finally after an hour and probably 15 minutes, they bring out one pasta dish that my brother's friend, who showed up 20 minutes after us, ordered. The server knows it's going bad, but we're nice people. I myself have been a server for a long time so I know the ins and outs of the job. About 10 more minutes go by and the rest of us are still waiting. My dad has to go ask what the deal is eventually. I ask our server if he can box me and my girlfriend's food once it is cooked because we really have to go home and tend to our kid. They eventually bring out my dad's burger and a burger for my brother, who ordered a shrimp dish, not a burger. Sucks for him as he still has to wait yet another god-knows how long before he gets to eat. They finally bring me and my girl's boxed food and I give them the benefit of the doubt and don't check it first. I figure if something is messed up, there's no way I'm waiting longer for this trash food. The manager comes and unprofessionally apologizes for everything and only offers to pay for the beer. We say our goodbyes, my brother still has no food. Before I leave, another server runs into a booth because of the horrible location of the tables and nearly drops her food dishes and as I'm walking out, another server backs into me and almost knocks me down. Whatever, we're just glad to be out of that horrible place (first time there by the way, also my last). I haven't even gotten to the quality of food yet...I do apologize. Me and my girl make it home and behold, our burgers are messed up. Mine has pickles, tomatos, lettuce, etc... My girl who specifically asked for lettuce, onions, and tomatos, has nothing on hers. We got different burgers by the way (mine was a bbq cowboy burger, hers was a mushroom burger). I take off the brown lettuce and pathetic looking tomato and offer it to my girl. She rightfully turns it down. I give her some of my onion strings to try to make her burger taste better and she has to put her own mayo on. The bread is small and tastes like a sponge. You can tell it's some Bunny bleached buns from walmart. You can tell the burgers are frozen patties, prob from a bag. The bbq sauce had to be Kraft (they even offer Kraft maccaroni for kids, mmm). The fries were hard and cold and looked old. Basically, I almost wanted to just throw all of it away. By far the worst dining experience I've ever had. Will never go back. I can only imagine what happened after I left... Thanks for those that read this.

We ordered the 2 for $20 meal with the dessert. When we asked what was included in the dessert they said ice cream. We said OK. Then the server told us they ran our of ice cream. Then the manager said there was no ice cream either and said they're was nothing they could do about it. Later during or meal, some one else asked us about how our meal was and we said good but our dessert has no ice cream and we laughed. So server said we can do am adjustment since we have no one cream. She gave us a $1.00 credit on bill. $1.00! Then we looked at our book and we were charged $5.99 for the dessert. We asked and were told dessert was not in the 2 for $20. OMG! Neesh keet! Not a customer oriented place to go to. I don't like Applebee's and will not be going back anyone soon. No ice cream and it's on the menu.

Our appetizers took 40 minutes but before they brought it out to us they told us they were out of one of them so we choose more wings......they brought them out and they weren't done ! Still bloody ! I was disgusted......the manager was very nice about it but they are going down hill quick.....time to step it up Applebee's !

Took the waiter FOREVERRRRR to bring our food then forgot our dessert cups then after bringing them out FINALLY they were all fucked up and I was like "seriously??!" And the waitress was like kitchen is about to be closed I can just not charge you for them which I agreed too but I mean really?! Only reason it got to be so late is cause you took so long!

Oh where to begin... So my father is from out of town and just wanted to visit his kids here in Baton Rouge and simply wanted to grab a quick burger. That simple task turned into a 2 hour dinner nightmare. Let me start off by saying that I have eaten at other Applebee's locations that are somewhat decent.. But this location is by far the worst place I have eaten at in a very long time.. So my father (who is very patient and polite) orders a beer and lets the server know that he'll be ready for round two fairly soon.. Well the server (Ronnie I think is his name) is to busy texting on his phone and flirting with the other waitresses to even walk to the damn bar and take a cap off a bottled beer and bring it to my father which is only about 30 feet away. Our waiter is so smooth with his words but gets pretty much all of our orders messed up and cant even bring out the right lemonade.. We wait for well over an hour before my father (who never complains) finally has to say something. The orders start coming out quick (but wrong) after speaking to the manager who ONLY says "I'll comp the beer for your wait" I was awe struck... Sitting here for over an hour and it was NOT a busy night at all.. there were many empty chairs (and for good reason). And the teenage manager only wants to pay for a single $3 beer... I was about ready to throw a chair. Ronnie of-course starts blaming the kitchen and pointing fingers until my dad says "the bar is right there.. (points) and it took 45 minutes for a refill?" I assure you the food was very poor quality (lower than I expected) with over cooked shrimp and cold burgers with dry cheese... BY THE WAY we completely forgot about the appetizer we ordered until it came out very last right as we were leaving... This place is hands down a joke ran by clowns. You can expect sub-par service at chain restaurants- but this... this- was off the charts. And a damn McDonald's burger would've been hotter and better than the slop coming out the back kitchen. I think out of 6 orders, our waiter and the "kitchen in training" managed to get 2 of them correct. Obviously we will all NOT be coming back to this location and now I know why the place was half empty on a Friday night... If you like this shitty bar food then go to the Buffalo wild wings across the street. I assure you it cannot be a worst experience.

Try the new Pretzel appetizer! Haven't been to Applebee's in a long time after some bad experiences so tried it again to see if things had improved. I must say that I was impressed compared to past visits. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was fresh and flavorful. I tried the Quesadilla burger and was pleased. I was REALLY pleased that Applebee's has on their menu now under burgers....."pink" or "no-pink". Normally a chain restaurant means "burnt" or "less burnt". The burger is meat patty with Mexican-ranch sauce with pico de gallo and shredded lettuce served in a Jack and cheddar quesadilla. Structurally the burger was a bit of a challenge as the crispy tortillas did not hold up as well as a bun, but I still managed to eat it all! I'm certainly a fan of this burger. My mother-in-law had the house sirloin and she said it had good flavor and it was cooked to order. My wife ordered the riblet basket and I managed to steal a few and they were tender. The barbecue sauce was sweet initially but then had a good after heat which was nice. If I had a complaint, other than being a Pepsi product company, it would be the fries. While crispy, they were slightly overcooked and extremely overseasoned to the point it almost burned your mouth from the salt and pepper. Hopefully they will continue with the menu changes and courteous staff. And...it seems as if they have fixed the food quality issues, at least at this location.

Everything was mixed here - I've been three times. The first time everything was as you'd expect - food was good, service good. The second time we were sat quick, ordered some soft drinks and then waited and waited. We saw servers moving around, but no one doing anything much. A table across from us had been waiting longer than we had and they left. We waited 15 more minutes to order, but we were hungry and didn't have unlimited time so we left. We never got the soft drinks, either. The third times, I guess we forget easily, we went in and were sat quick and again waited and waited. We were starving and didn't want to go somewhere to start the process again, but we have a limit. We saw one table come, sit and finally leave without ever talking to anyone. We saw another table with drinks sitting and sitting and finally leave, too. Finally, our waitress came and we ordered drinks and appetizers and waited again forever to order the food. I waited 20 minutes for a mojito, and was told the bartender had to make it. They must not realize I could see the bartender just sitting there talking to the only guy at the bar doing nothing. We finally ordered and our food came at a longer than average time. The food was good, hot and we were happy. No time for desert. My final analysis, the food is what you would expect, but the service is really slow and no one there is in a hurry to do anything.

My visit to Applebee's started out very promising. I stopped to get a quick salad and knew they had a decent lunch menu. I sat for 5 minutes before my server came to take my drink order. By that time, I knew what I wanted to order so I pointed to the lunch side of the menu and selected my two options. It took a while for my food to come out, I ordered a house salad and shrimp linguine. The salad was a larger size than a side salad so I was a little shocked at the portion size given it was lunch. Then the linguine came out and it was also rather large. Once my bill came, I realized he was charging me full price. I told him that I wanted the lunch portion not dinner. He did not alter my bill and by that time I was already running late to get back to work on time. Applebee's will not be an option for me anytime soon. My quick, economical lunch that should have been $8 turned into a $17 bill that was not even worth it.

Went here for a date night with my husband. We got seated ( the employee that sat us down was courteous) then our waiter came by quickly ( he was helping another family so he politely told us he would be right with us) food was good! Service was excellent!!

Slow service - when order came, no utensils to eat with. I went and asked the hostess as the waiter was not to be found and she said they were rolling some in the back. Then she asked if I wanted plastic and I said "I didn't care". She went to the back and was minmicking me to the other waiters. She brought plastic utensils and we told our waiter what she had done. We had to ask more than once for our drinks to be refilled and for barbecue sauce for my granddaughter. When we asked for a take home box, a dirty box with a crumbled napkin in it was brought. A classic hamburger was ordered to take home. When it was opened to be eaten, it was a piece of meat and the bun - no dressings at all. I have to rate your restaurant as terrible, very bad place to enjoy a meal. For $42.00, I would at least expect regular utensils. I will not recommend Applebee's and I will certainly not dine there again. Rose Payton - an unhappy customer.

This is going to be my LAST time ever eating at Applebee's!!! Granted it just opened, so I'm sure they are working out the kinks, but tonite was just unacceptable. Firstly, we got there, was sat right away. We then ordered the chips and lemon-cilantro chipotle salsa. Out comes a tray of chips and a bowl of salsa the size of a condiment bowl. I could not fit my chip in there unless i broke it in pieces. After about 5 chips, we needed more salsa. The waitress told us it was unlimited so feel freeto keep asking for more, so that we did. She brings out this bowl that is SMALLER than the first. Literally, after 3 chips all the salsa was done. We didnt even finish half the chips that was brought to us. Secondly, my bf ordered a sizzling steak entree and i ordered a cowboy burger. His entree comes out and there was no sizzle, not even any steam. The food was maybe somewhat hot. My burger was bland and i dont add salt to my food. It was supposed to come with bbq sauce on it....there was maybe a squirt of bbq sauce...barely noticeable. We ordered an extra side with the steak, which they forgot. Lastly, the thing that pissed us off the most was thatthe waitress brought us our check halfway through our entree. She couldve waited till we were finished eatingto see if we wanted anythg else, but...nope. That was definitely the last straw. I have never been so dissatisfied with a restaurant. Never, never again!

1 hour and 20 minutes and I'm STILL waiting for my oriental chicken salad. The first salad came with fried chicken when I ordered grilled. The second salad came with raw chicken. These MORONS pulled raw chicken off my salad and put it in the microwave and PUT IT BACK ON THE SAME LETTUCE. Apparently they were absent for CROSS CONTAMINATION day at cook school. The fourth attempt was looking promising until I took a bite and discovered they wash their greens in Clorox. Rosalie's steak was horribly overcooked, but she didn't send it back. Mom said hersteak was mediocre and her broccoli was raw. Never got to see the manager but I think they'll be getting a new one soon. The onion rings we had for an appetizer were flavorless and the queso was cold in the queso dip and the chips were stale. It was the worst meal I've ever had at an Applebees. I took my mother in law home and scrounged in the fridge for dinner. Avoid this place like the plague!! As an added bonus I had a great round of food poisoning within the right time frame for it having been caused by the raw chicken. Lovely. Nothing says never dine at Applebees like 12 hours of dry heaves.
